چکیده
Plants have developed mechanisms to cope with stresses in their environments as they grow diverse settings. Such means include releasing plant defense compounds upon attacks by pests or other stressors. these characteristics are essential a germplasm source for breeding resistance against herbivores and insect pests. Therefore, this study aimed screen germplasms whitefly characterize the secondary metabolites responsible this. Thirty local tomato accessions were screened whiteflies (Bemisia tabaci Gennadius) house located at Tanzania Plant Health Pesticides Authority (PTHPA) between January April 2021. From screening, seven cultivars: TZA3729, TZA5554, TZA5545, TZA5562, TZA5552, TZA3177 TZA5157, showed resistance, one accession (TZA5496) that susceptibility (negative control) V1030462 was standard (positive selected subsequent experiments. The experiment conducted July–October 2021 TPHPA repeated January–April 2022 using completely randomized block design three replications. experiment, accessions: TZA5562 whiteflies. However, TZA3729 more resistant than TZA5157 when compared V1030462. further pests—in case, GS-MS methanol extract results possess wide array of self-defenses, such diterpenes, Tetraterpenes, alkaloids, carotenoids fatty acid esters. recommends tomatoes

Genome-Wide Characterization and Expression Profiling of Sugar Transporter Family in the Whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae)
Sugar transporters (STs) play pivotal roles in the growth, development, and stress responses of phloem-sucking insects, such as the whitefly, Bemisia tabaci. In this study, 137 sugar transporters (STs) were identified based on analysis of the genome and transcriptome of B. tabaci MEAM1. B. tabaci MEAM1 encodes a larger number of STs than other selected insects. Phylogenetic and molecular evolut...
متن کاملDifferential transcriptional activity of plant-pathogenic begomoviruses in their whitefly vector (Bemisia tabaci, Gennadius: Hemiptera Aleyrodidae).
Plant-pathogenic begomoviruses have a complex association with their whitefly vector and aspects concerning virus genetic activity (genome replication and gene transcription) within the insect remain highly controversial. Virus transcript abundance was assessed by quantifying selected gene transcripts of Tomato mottle virus (ToMoV, a New World bipartite begomovirus) and Tomato yellow leaf curl ...

A Primary Screening and Applying of Plant Volatiles as Repellents to Control Whitefly Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) on Tomato
With the goal of finding a new way to reduce population densities of Bemisia tabaci biotype Q in greenhouses, seven repellent volatile chemicals and their combinations were screened. The mixture of DLCO (D-limonene, citral and olive oil (63:7:30)) had a better cost performance(SC50 = 22.59 mg/ml)to repel whiteflies from settling than the other mixtures or single chemicals. In the greenhouse, in...
متن کاملAcyl sugars and whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) resistance in segregating populations of tomato genotypes.
The wild tomato, Solanum pennellii, is an important source of resistance genes against tomato pests. This resistance is due to the presence of acyl sugars (AS), which are allelochemicals that have negative effects on arthropod pests. There are no commercially available tomato cultivars that exhibit significant levels of resistance to arthropod pests. Therefore, this study evaluated resistance t...
